Individual Creative Studio Lighting Creations

Here's a photo where split lighting was used. This technique utilizes a main light positioned 90degrees to the side of the subject at eye level to illuminate only half of the face. 

Here's a photo where the three-point lighting method was used. The Three Point Lighting Technique is a standard method used in visual media such as video, film, still photography and computer-generated imagery. It is a simple but versatile system which forms the basis of most lighting.

Scary Face Lighting! The only light that is used is a flash light.

Individual Outside Portable Light Reflector Project

Here's a selfie of me with the sun directly behind me! You can see the glare right behind me which makes the photo blurry. 

 Here's another selfie but with this photo we used a  reflector bouncing sunlight onto subject’s face showing improved face lighting. The light was very bright which explains my facial expression.

Three Point Lighting Technique

Before any Lighting: 

Here's a shot of Tre Paige without the key light, fill light, and backlight. The only lights that were on were the ones in the classroom. 

Key Light: 

Here's Tre Paige with the key light and this photo is without the lights in the classroom. 

The key light is the first and usually most important light that a photographer, cinematographer, lighting cameraman, or other scene composer will use in a lighting setup. The purpose of the key light is to highlight the form and dimension of the subject.

Fill Light:
Here's a photo of Tre Paige with the key light and fill light on. As you can see that the photo is a clearer. In television, film, stage, or photographic lighting, a fill light may be used to reduce the contrast of a scene to match the dynamic range of the recording media and record the same amount of detail typically seen by eye in average lighting and considered normal.

Back Light: 
Here's a photo of Tre Paige with the key light, fill light, and back light. You can see the difference in this photo because all of the lights are on and this gives the photo perfect lighting. A backlight is a form of illumination used in (LCDs). As LCDs do not produce light by themselves (CRT) displays), they need illumination or a special light source to produce a visible image. Backlights illuminate the LCD from the side or back of the display panel, unlike front lights, which are placed in front of the LCD. 

Wide Shot: 
In this shot you're able to see every light and the angles that these lights were placed in. Each light had a different effect in every picture.

3. Arrive on time and leave before you over-due your welcome. Don't Chew gum and Don't sit unless you're invited and be friendly.

4. Interviewees feel more comfortable when asked "Show Me What You Do."

Who am I!

Born and raised in the South, my name is Aushakeria Stiney but everyone calls me "Shay". I'm currently a senior at South Carolina State University. My major is Broadcasting Communications because I want to host my own radio show after graduation and eventually host huge events on television. I enjoy the simple thing about life and I love to do anything that is fun. My hobbies are traveling, dancing, reading, spending time with friends, and eating of course.

After graduation I plan on moving to a bigger city than where I'm originally from. I'm torn between Atlanta Ga and Los Angeles California but I know I'll have one picked by the time graduation approaches. These are my two location choices because both cities are popular in the communications world. After my broadcasting career takes off I plan on having my own fashion line with the hopes of one day opening up my own shopping stores all around the world.  "You can not just exist in this life, you have to live," is a quote that I live by. I'm determined to be successful and known for everything that is great. Stay tuned...

"Holly Herrick comes to South Carolina State University"

"As a child, I loved cooking from our garden with my Nanna, but decided I wanted to be a journalist when I grew up," says Holly.

Holly talked about how being an of a cookbook was never a dream of hers as a child. She thought of cooking as being something that was fun that her and her grandmother enjoyed doing together. Holly had a love for writing and creating blogs as well, she graduated from Boston College after studying journalism. But somehow after graduating college she still found love in food and soon went off to Paris to study Cuisine and Pastry at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. After graduating from school in Paris Holly went on to travel the world. As she traveled she was still creating recipes for her cookbooks. She currently has seven cookbooks out and published.

"I use classical technique explained in simple, easy to apply ways and dishes that everyone would love," says Herrick.

Holly talks about how the recipes she creates are very simple and if the meals are prepared correctly she guarantees that they all are very delicious. She talked about how the meals don't always come out perfect and she has to start over until everything is right. Her blog is how she reaches out to her buyers because she tries to attract her audience by providing them with the most creativity and most information as possible. Sound like a pretty busy lady, right? But somehow she still manages to live and enjoy life.

"I appreciate all of my blessings and the places, people and things," say Herrick.  Holly is in love with cooking, writing, walking, and swimming. These are just some of the activities that Holly enjoys. She doesn't have any kids but she has a dog named Tan, and cat Chutney, that are considered as her children. Holly lives in Charleston and enjoys it, if not found in the kitchen she's usually reading a good book or taking a nap.

James Brown Style! As you can see James Brown was very stylist and classy. His suites came in different colors and styles. His style was very different and unique!

"The life of Constance Maybin"

"If only our eyes saw souls instead of bodies, how different our ideals of beauty would be." This is a quote that the beautiful Constance Maybin lives by.

Constance Maybin is from the beautiful city of Baltimore, Maryland. She is currently attending South Carolina State University as a sophomore studying in Broadcast Communications. While attending South Carolina State University she became apart of organizations and serves as class senator of her sophomore class.


"After college I want to become a television host for my own talk show. Be on the look out for my come," says Maybin with so much confidence.


Constance grew up with a passion in running track. She was one of the best track runners on her team when the attended Bluffton High School. Track wasn't the only sport she was also a cheerleader.


"Many people wouldn't consider cheering a sport, but I do! There's so much hard work and dedication that you have to put into cheering just like any other sport. The cheerleaders made the games so exciting and fun to come to," says Maybin.


Maybin is big on family which means that she loves and adores her family so much. Both of her parents were considered to be hard workers and were willing to do almost any and everything to provide for her and her brother. Her parents made sure that they had nothing to worry about.


"My family inspires me... My father was my hero, he used to be a fire fighter. My mom moved from England and left everything that she knew to be a mother to us. My brother is an artist and it amazes me that he could create such beautiful things with his hands," says Constance.

"Apple's Next Big Thing"

Apple is apart of majority of people's lives today all around the world. Apple has now created a new device known as the "Apple Watch," which to me is very creative. I can see myself getting this watch because it lets you control everything, even your health. I found this watch to be very useful, especially to those who are trying to maintain good health. This watch tells you how many calories your body has had and lets you know what your workout should consist of based on your calories. NOT ONLY THAT!


 The apple watch lets you control your iPhone, iTunes, and is stored with many apps that are very useful. Writers describe this watch as technology attempting to colonize our bodies which seems to be very scary. This watch lives on your body! "The benefits of this watch is that it's always there," writers say. Many writers also mentioned how this watch could somehow be a negative contributor in today's world because it will give you control but take it away at the same time. Seems weird right? Because of this watch your phone will start telling you what you should and shouldn't eat and how far you should run. Also, as explained by writers this device will go places you wouldn't expect and how people will use that information from that watch to track you and market to you which seems even more scarier.


I'm very neutral about this watch because it has its' pros and cons. It could either be helpful in the years ahead or this device may take over the world in a negative way. This watch allows you to do almost any and everything plus more that your iPhone already allows us to do. Just when we thought that was enough, Apple is taking over.  #Apple #Watch #MAC #Iphone
